About Griff
Meet Griff: The Big Baby with a Big Heart
At just 22 months old, Griff may still be a pup in age, but he's already got the soul of an old man-and we mean that in the best way possible. Imagine a gentle giant who's happiest sitting beside you on a wide porch, soaking in the golden hour with a cool Beveridge in paw-reach (he prefers his water chilled), content to watch the sun dip below the trees. That's Griff.
But don't let his laid-back aspirations fool you-he's not quite ready to retire. Griff's still got some goofy puppy energy to burn, a bit of clumsiness in those oversized paws, and a few life lessons yet to learn. He's ready to settle down, find his rhythm, and grow into the wise, loyal companion he's destined to be.
Griff is a cowardly lion at heart. Big? Yes. Brave? Well... not exactly. Sudden noises? Suspicious. New things? Best observed from a safe distance. He's sensitive, a little bit precious, and totally endearing. He'll lean into you for comfort, give you those soulful eyes, and quietly steal your heart without ever trying.
Ideal Home
Griff is searching for a peaceful, predictable forever home-somewhere suburban or rural where life moves a little slower and there's space to stretch out. A secure, fully fenced yard is a must (post and rail fencing won't contain this baby). He's not cut out for the chaos of kids or the company of other dogs-he wants you all to himself.
He's looking for:
A home (suburban or rural) with a secure yard
No other dogs or young children
Someone who appreciates a goofy, gentle soul with a side of silly
In return, Griff promises to be your loyal porch companion, your sunset-watching buddy, and your soft-hearted shadow. He's not perfect, but he's perfectly Griff-a big baby with a bigger heart, just looking for a place to call home.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
