About Romeo
Romeo may look a little like Grumpy Cat, but don’t let the resemblance fool you — he’s anything but grumpy.
This 9-year-old Scottish Fold/Ragdoll mix has all the adorable features you’d expect: flattened ears, chubby cheeks, and stumpy little legs. But what really makes Romeo special is his sweet, affectionate nature and his eagerness to please.
When Romeo first came to us, his coat was in poor condition, and he was constantly itching. However once we put him on a diet for food sensitivities he started to regain his equilibrium. Through all of this despite his discomfort he was always friendly and gentle and welcomed attention from everyone. Furthermore since going into foster care where he is showered with love, his coat has improved beautifully, and he’s thriving. He enjoys being near his carer and has settled into a routine of having a short play in the morning, strolling around and spending the rest of the day snoozing under the doona.
Romeo is in foster home in Avalon and is very much like his traditional namesake — truly loving. He is a calm, content, and incredibly affectionate cat with a sensitive soul (literally) and so he must continue to eat the correct food or the itching and scratching will return. A quiet home would be to his liking and he will probably be happy as the only cat so he can have all of your attention.
If you’re the kind of person who is at home a lot and can ensure he sticks to his hypoallergenic diet (no meat proteins), Romeo will reward you with gentle, loving companionship, endless cuddles and quiet joy. He is an absolute pleasure to have around.
Cat accessories such as carriers, litter trays, litter scoops, food bowls, etc. are all available for purchase at SAFE Haven, with all proceeds going into saving animals and caring for them until they find loving homes.
