About Melinda
Hello there! I’m Melinda, and I’m officially accepting applications for my forever family.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR Melinda
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM

My Ideal Home:
• Familiarity and understanding of my breed traits & health issues would be highly valued.
• I’ll need regular exercise — walks, park or beach trips, and playtime in the backyard will keep me happy and healthy.
• I want to be part of the family indoors — not left outside without interaction.
• Secure fencing is essential to keep me safe.
• I’d love plenty of toys and mental enrichment to keep my busy mind occupied.
• A good-quality dry food diet will help support my dental health.
• Most importantly, I’m looking for lots of love and attention from my family.
• When I get excited & playful, I can be a little bouncy and mouthy, so any children in the home would need to feel comfortable and confident around an energetic, enthusiastic dog joining the family.
• I am happy to co exist with other dogs however I am not overly interactive with them. I would be fine to go to a home with another dog as long as they are not to full AS I would not appreciate that!
• With a slow and thoughtful introduction, I would be fine to go to a home with a cat.
My Paw-some Perks:
• I’m a very playful, happy pup with the cutest little wiggle-butt when I’m excited.
• I’m highly food motivated, which makes training lots of fun and helps me learn quickly.
• I’ve had some basic obedience training — I’m generally a well-mannered girl. I know my basic commands like sit, stay, wait, go to bed & back.
• I am housetrained and am used to being allowed indoors as part of the family.
• I absolutely love attention, cuddles, hugs, kisses and head scratches, and I’m quite partial to snoozing on the couch with my humans.
• I LOVE toys — especially my ball & soft teddies.
• My favourite things are car rides, going for walks & to the beach. I get so excited when i see the lead - I do zoomies & little pig roots <3
• An all up well rounded, adorable & fun little lady who would make a great addition
Training & Support Needs:
• I can pull quite strongly on the lead for a little nugget, I would benefit from further on lead training and being walked in a harness to reduce strain on my little throat.
• My previous owner said that i can be a little wary of unfamiliar older men, lots of positive socialization & desensitization should help this.
Please Note: You’ll only be able to meet Melinda if your application is approved. Successful applicants will be invited to the shelter for a meet-and-greet, and any dogs currently in the home must attend as well
Medical notes
Brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome (BOAS), common in French Bulldogs.
Stenotic nares – where the nostrils are too small to allow adequate passage of air making breathing through the nose difficult.
Elongated and/or thickened soft palate – where the soft palate is too long and/or too thick. In these cases the soft palate is excessively long allowing it to sit within the opening of the trachea (windpipe) and thus obstructs normal airflow.
All of above highly common in French Bulldogs.
Surgery may be recommended in the future which will be the responsibility of the new owner.
