About Luna Moon
Luna Moon is an absolutely stunning and fun loving little lady, a delightful bundle of fluff that brings joy wherever she goes. She is a Husky x Samoyed mix weighing in at just 18 kilos making our “ White Wolf” a perfect size lightweight med girl.
Her personality is as bright as her name suggests, and she is a typical happy-go-lucky teenager who thrives on social interactions.
Luna is a social butterfly, always eager to make new friends and engage in playful activities.
Favorite Things
Luna has a deep affection for her fellow canine companions and thoroughly enjoys playing with other dogs.
Her love for water is undeniable, and she takes great pleasure in splashing around in her water bowl.
During the summer months, she would be over the moon to have a shell pool to cool off and play in.
Interaction with People
Luna is a sociable girl who absolutely adores meeting new people. She exudes confidence and is always ready to receive pats and affection. With a cheeky streak, she can sometimes become a bit mouthy if she doesn’t feel like doing something, but with a firm “ahh,” she usually gives in with a playful spirit. Despite her playful nature, Luna is not overly jumpy and takes treats very gently from your hand, showing her sweet and gentle side.
Interaction with Other Animals
Currently, Luna is being fostered with three other dogs, and she loves spending time playing with them.
We are seeking a home for her where she can have a young and playful friend to keep her company.
As a husky breed, she can be quite vocal at times, barking to invite her friends to play. She enjoys soft, mouthy play sessions or a good game of chase around the yard.
Luna has also met a cat and was not particularly bothered, so she could potentially live with dog-savvy cats. Independence Luna is quite content being outside during the day, especially if she has an active friend to hang out with. She will need someone to be home for a few days to help her settle into her new environment, but once she feels comfortable, she is happy to spend time outside. Initially, she may bark, but she soon becomes fairly quiet and relaxed.
Inside the Home
Luna is in the process of learning her inside manners. She is working on settling on her mat when inside the house.
As a teenager, she can be a bit cheeky, sometimes stealing things she shouldn’t, like shoes or anything left lying around. She turns these moments into a fun game of “chase me,” which she thoroughly enjoys. She is generally calm and relaxed
Exercise and Training
Luna looks forward to her daily walks and is practicing her loose lead walking. She is not overly strong on the lead and is learning basic commands such as “sit.” She is also practicing recall on a long lead and responds well to positive reinforcement, especially when food is involved.
Food
Miss Luna eats with the grace of a lady, savoring one piece of kibble at a time, chewing it like a true princess. She is currently being fed high-quality puppy kibble with sardines, as she is not a big eater. However, she has a particular fondness for chicken and will do just about anything for a taste of it.
Hygiene and Grooming
Luna has a thick, fluffy coat that requires regular brushing and occasional grooming to keep her looking her best. She has had a few wee accidents in the home but is improving and learning from her other doggy friends. If taken out regularly she should progress quickly. She has access to a doggy door and uses it regularly
Sleep
Luna is crate trained and will sleep soundly through the night until you wake her up in the morning.
She can be a little mouthy going into her crate but once in settles easily
Car Trips
Luna loves traveling in the car and is happy to jump in and out, making her an excellent companion for road trips.
Ideal Home
Luna would thrive in a home with a friend who is energetic and eager to play. WE feel she is best suited to a home with another playful dog who can match her energy and love of play.
A family experienced with husky or working breeds would be ideal, as they would understand her needs and be happy to guide Luna throughout her life. A family committed to ongoing training and providing secure fencing with a yard for outdoor play would be perfect. We are seeking yards large enough for play and chase games with her companion.
An active family that can keep up with her energy levels would make Luna’s life complete.
Children in the home would be fine but we would be seeking mature age dog savvy if in residence
