About Stevie
Private Rehoming – Stevie the Indian Ringneck
About Stevie:
♡ Female – DNA tested
♡ Negative for Chlamydia Psittaci/Psittacosis
♡ Microchipped
♡ Vet checked
Diet:
♡ 20% Pellets – Harrisons, Passwell, Vetafarm Maintenance Diet or Nutriblend
♡ 70% Vegetable Chop – includes legumes, dried mix-ins (coconut flakes, quinoa, oats, etc.)
♡ 10% Fruits & Treats – small parrot mix, nuts
Personality & Training:
♡Tame with her bonded humans, but cautious with strangers
♡ Can be territorial with other birds and has been bitten in the beak due to this before (especially around food/space) – currently managed with a hormone suppression implant)
♡ Knows step up, short recall, spin (sometimes), and kiss
♡ Can be loud when flock calling
♡ Doesn’t usually bite
Favourite Things:
♡ Throwing toys to the ground (gravity is fun!)
♡ Chewing pine, sola balls, balsa, mahogany pods, gumnuts, vine toys
♡ Cuddles with her chosen person
♡ Playing with earrings/ears
♡ Sneaking bites of human food
Ideal Home:
Stevie thrives where she can be the centre of attention. She could be an only bird or live with a very small flock. While she currently shares an aviary with another Ringneck and four Alexandrines, she much prefers human company.
This is not an urgent rehoming, we are simply hoping to find a home that can give her the extra attention she wants. She was a stray bird that came to us in 2021, and we believe her to have been quite young and estimate she is about 5 years old now which means she could have another 10-15 years left.
Not Suitable For:
♡ Homes with small birds (she will attack them or chew toes through cages)
♡ Aviary setups or breeders
♡ Homes where she’ll be left alone for long periods

Adoption details
Adoption Process – Lazzi’s Legacy Bird Rescue & Sanctuary Inc.
Rescue – Rehabilitation – Rehome
Our adoption process begins with an email conversation, including a series of questions designed to help us learn more about you and your home environment. This helps us ensure the best possible match between you and one of our birds.
Once we have identified a suitable bird, a four-week foster period will begin. This trial allows you and the bird to adjust and determine if it’s the right fit. If things don’t work out, you may either trial another bird or choose to have your adoption fee refunded.
If the bird settles in well and you decide to become their forever home—congratulations!

Adoption Requirements
To ensure the safety and wellbeing of our birds, the following conditions must be met:

Must be at least 1500mm wide with predator-proof mesh, a safety/double door, and a snake/rat-proof base (e.g., concrete with bolts).
- Diet:
Birds must be provided with a diet of fresh vegetables and seeds. Pellets or crumbles are optional but preferred for added nutritional value.
- Out-of-Cage Time:
Birds must be given regular time outside of their cage for enrichment and exercise.
