Bonded Pair – Looking for a Loving Retirement Home
Meet Ruby and Vincent, two gentle, affectionate seniors who are
inseparable and looking for a forever home together. They may be a
little frail and carry the marks of their past, but their hearts are
full of love and they’re ready to share it with the right family.
🌸 About Ruby
Ruby is a dainty, adventurous little lady with a zest for life. She
loves exploring on walks, sniffing everything with enthusiasm, and even
tackling the stairs (which she’s decided are fun!). Despite her age and
arthritis, Ruby greets each day with wagging tail energy. She’s
incredibly affectionate, happiest when curled up on your chest with her
head tucked into your neck, or soaking up belly rubs and gentle
massages.
Ruby is a bit nervous in new situations and may tremble at first, but
with patience she blossoms quickly. She’s underweight and working on
building her appetite, but her love of food is slowly returning.
🐾 About Vincent
Vincent is Ruby’s devoted shadow – and he’d like to be yours too. He’s a
sweet, gentle boy who adores human company and doesn’t want to let you
out of his sight. He struggles with separation anxiety, so he’ll need a
home where someone is around most of the time. Vincent is a
slow-and-steady walker who enjoys short strolls and plenty of cuddle
time on the couch.
Vincent has some skin issues and limited eyesight, but he takes it all
in stride. With the right ongoing care and gentle reassurance, he’ll
thrive in a calm, loving environment.
💕 Their Bond
Ruby and Vincent are true snuggle bugs. They’ll both climb over each
other to get closer to you, then curl up side by side for naps. They
don’t require long walks or lots of exercise – just short strolls, soft
beds, and plenty of human affection.
✅ What They Need in a Home
A calm, loving household with someone home most of the day (retirees or
those working from home would be perfect).
No young children, as both dogs are a little frail and can get
underfoot.
A single-level home or only a few stairs would be best, though Ruby is
showing off her stair skills.
A family who understands senior dogs, is happy to give them ongoing vet
care, and most importantly, lots of love.
✨ Why Adopt Ruby & Vincent?
These two may not be perfect, but they are perfectly lovable. They’ll
reward your kindness with endless snuggles, gentle companionship, and
the joy of giving two senior souls the comfortable, happy retirement
they deserve.
If you have room in your heart and home for double the love, Ruby and
Vincent would love to meet you.

All our dogs are desexed, C5 vaccinated with intranasal, microchipped,
wormed, and flea treated. All necessary vetwork such as dentals,
surgery, eye treatment are also carried out. We are no longer heartworm
testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If
a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer free assistance for six weeks for any issues, a lifetime takeback policy with full refund of the adoption fee, and will always be available to offer advice.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.

Please note that we do not take/make telephone calls prior to receiving an application.
Commonly asked questions and their answers are provided when you email us. We look forward to receiving your application.
