About Zorro
Zorro has been at the pound for few weeks but they can’t keep him forever and we have no room to take him, as is the case with all the other rescue groups that the pound has contacted.
He might not look much like a Husky, but Zorro is registered as a Husky X which is why we have been asked to help him.
Zorro was surrendered due to his owners moving overseas, they say he is a Husky x Bulldog but we are not convinced, maybe a bit of Lab or even Akita? He’s quite a big goofy boy and can be boisterous, jump up and get a bit mouthy when excited, so he will need some training and to learn some lead manners.
He is said to be social and non-reactive around other dogs, so he may be suitable for a home with a friendly female doggy companion of similar size who can tolerate some rough play.
His surrender form says he has been around cats and young children, however as we don’t know enough about him we will require any children to be at least in their teens and caution would need to be taken with cats and other small animals.
As with all our dogs, Zorro will need a secure yard with fencing at least 6 foot high and walks must always be on lead.
Even if someone can foster another dog for us, that will free up a space for us to take Zorro into our care and give him the training he needs.
This is what the lovely staff at the pound say about Zorro:
"Hi I am Zorro. I am Siberian Husky x
My DOB is 01/09/2022.
I look like a big teddy bear, I love everything.
My new humans would need to play ball and like to go for walks.
I have been around school aged kids. I don’t mind cats.
Can you help with finding me a new home?"
Zorro is not available for interstate adoption and is not suitable for apartments, homes with small yards or rural areas.
Zorro will need:
* A home as an only-dog or with a friendly canine companion of similar size
* Any children to be in their teens
* Daily walks, always on lead
* A reasonably large yard with grass areas and an undercover area for shelter
* Fences and gates will need to be at least 6 foot high, secure and dig-proof
* Arctic or Large breed experience, preferably with large energetic dogs
