About Wilbur - 6 Month Old Kelpie X
Meet Wilbur – The Snuggly Sidekick You Didn’t Know You Needed
Wilbur is a 6-month-old Kelpie X with a big heart, a gentle nature, and a serious love for toys and cuddles. He came into care from a tough beginning alongside his mum and siblings (including Gracie!), and he’s now ready to find a forever home where he can truly relax and be himself. Wilbur is the ultimate couch buddy—he adores people and loves nothing more than snuggling up after a play session with his toys or a little romp in the yard. He’s calm for his age, sweet-tempered, and just starting to blossom into a confident young dog with the help of a caring foster home.
What Makes Wilbur Special:
* Clever and eager to learn – very food motivated and picking up commands quickly
* Crate trained and sleeps soundly through the night
* Almost toilet trained – getting there fast with routine
* Gentle, affectionate, and chilled – loves human connection
* Dog friendly – enjoys the company of other dogs
* Toy lover & fetch fan – especially in sunny spots
Wilbur would thrive in a home where he gets plenty of company, cuddles, and the slow, steady guidance he needs to grow into a confident adult.
Wilbur’s Ideal Home:
- A calm, structured environment
- Family committed to ongoing training and gentle guidance
- Indoor/outdoor access – Wilbur must be allowed on the couch for snuggles!
- A friendly resident dog or regular doggy playdates
- Children aged 9+ who understand shy or sensitive dogs
While not overly energetic, Wilbur still needs daily walks and playtime, plus continued socialisation and enrichment.
Wilbur is currently in foster care in Wallsend, Newcastle, NSW and is available for adoption throughout NSW. His adoption fee is $700, and includes desexing, microchipping, two vaccinations, flea & worm treatment.
