Selene is a beautiful, intelligent, and loyal girl who embodies everything we love about the German Shepherd breed. At 3 years old, she's already proving to be a quick learner with a deep desire to bond with her people - she's just waiting for the right family to bring out the best in her.
What Selene's Looking For:
Selene is seeking an inclusive and committed forever home, ideally with a family that has older children (10+), and either experience with the breed or the willingness to dedicate time to structured training and regular enrichment. She thrives with guidance and loves nothing more than learning alongside her humans - group classes or ongoing training would be a fantastic way to strengthen the incredible bond she's ready to form.
Personality & Needs:
This adventurous girl has a zest for life and enjoys both mental and physical stimulation. Whether it's a walk through the bush, working through puzzles, or a focused training session, Luna is up for it all - especially if it involves time with her humans.
She's a true shepherd when it comes to loyalty, but she's also discerning with her doggy friends. Selene would do best as the only dog for now, or possibly with a calm, confident, and intuitive canine companion who can help guide her with positive social cues. She's not looking for a rowdy playmate, but rather a mentor-type friend if the fit is just right.
Grooming & Care:
With her stunning long coat, Selene requires regular brushing to keep her looking and feeling her best. She doesn't mind a good pampering session - especially if it's followed by some extra snuggles or a tasty treat.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
