About Rusty
Meet Rusty, an active and intelligent stumpy tail Border Collie with the gentle heart of a country boy.
Born on March 27, 2024, Rusy’s a typical BC - a bundle of energy wrapped up in a highly intelligent package. He weighs 16 kgs.
He is one of those rare Border Collies that has been born with a naturally short or bobbed tail due to a genetic mutation. This is a rare occurrence in the breed, but could also be explained by some cattle dog genes lurking in his genetic make-up.
Rusty is a lovable companion who's ready to be your partner in all sorts of outdoor adventures. He has a country soul, revelling in a good Ute ride, swimming in a creek or dam, and bushwalking. Rusty is in his element surrounded by nature.
Confident and inclined to be dominant, Rusty is not keen on male dogs. However, he’s fine with females once properly introduced. He’s had no exposure to cats since being in care.
This lovely boy has a special bond with women, but can be a bit timid when it comes to meeting men, so a gentle and understanding approach is key to gaining his trust and friendship.
If you’re looking for a smart, eager, and loving friend who thrives in the great outdoors, Rusty is ready to share his zest for life with you.
As always, secure fencing is essential to keep Rusty safe.
