Meet Lani, a stunning 7-year-old lilac British Shorthair with a gentle soul and a quiet charm. Since arriving into care, Lani has been taking her time to settle in, showing that she prefers calm and patience as she adjusts to her new surroundings.

While she’s still a little timid and not quite ready for cuddles, Lani is beginning to show interest in human connection. If you sit quietly in her room, she may brush up against you—her own special way of saying hello. She enjoys observing the world from a safe distance and has started to venture out of her room to nap under the sofa, suggesting she wants to be near people, just in her own time.

True to her breed, Lani isn’t fond of being picked up, but she’s starting to allow the occasional gentle pat, especially when trust begins to grow. She’ll thrive in a peaceful, predictable home with someone who understands that love can take time—and that the reward is worth the wait.
