About Elliot
Serious snugglebug meets bowerbird, say goodbye to your personal space, and the things you leave laying about the house! An avid curator, Elliot loves to conduct audits of the shelves, tables and other surfaces he can reach; relocating is fun, but finding a delicious snack even more so, this curious snoot is not above a good bin dive or pantry raid. When he's not getting into something that he probably shouldn't, he will happily curl up in your lap.
Despite his age Elliot is a puppy at heart, and only has two settings: GO and slow! Full of beans and always ready to play, Elliot loves a zoomie, enjoys roughhousing with his humans, thinks toys are the best things ever, and lives for his walks. He is social and sweet with every new human and dog he meets, but more than anything he adores his family. A home where there is lots of attention and affection available is a must. While he could easily live with another dog (and currently has two canine foster siblings), life as a doted upon spoiled only child would also suit him very well.
Elliot is such an enthusiastic eater he can forget his manners around food, so his perfect people will need to have patience in the beginning while he learns the rules of a new home. He has made great strides in foster care, quickly picking up staying on his bed while there's cooking in the kitchen, and not begging when there is food present, but we expect that this will take work again in a new environment.
With access to a toileting space, Elliot can cope with the occasional work day home alone, but he takes so much joy from being with his people that we think a home where he could come to work or supervise your WFH activities would fit best. He is however a hard task master, and will hold you accountable to KPIs (Keep Patting Indefinitely).

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, some can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour.
As a result we look to rehome dogs into households where they are not left on their own for more than 4 hours per day on a regular basis, without either people or another dog for company. We are happy discuss strategies such as a dog walker or doggy day care. Going to work with you is also a great option

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
