About Hodgie the Greyhound
If you are interested in Hodgie, or any of our Greyhounds, we require you to fill in our application form - https://forms.gle/kpSn4PdsS2Uc7gDt6
Meet Hodgie, a gentle giant with a heart full of love and a demeanor that would make any royal proud. This charming greyhound has all the makings of a perfect companion for those looking for a loyal friend to share their life with. With his calm presence and striking blue coat, Hodgie is the epitome of elegance and poise, making him an irresistible addition to any family.
Hodgie currently resides in a spacious duplex where he enjoys daily indoor time. A large backyard isn't necessary for him, as he's content munching on treats and nesting on a comfortable bed for hours, deep in thought or napping. Though he gets along brilliantly with the two greyhounds he shares his home with, he equally cherishes the company of humans, diligently shadowing you as you go about your day. Despite his size, he's far from cumbersome—Hodgie is a quiet, collected soul who finds joy in the simple pleasure of resting in the sunshine, keeping a watchful eye on the birds.
Hodgie is extremely well-behaved on lead walks, making him an enjoyable partner for leisurely strolls around the neighborhood, where his impeccable manners shine through each patient pause to sniff and relish the scenery. Hodgie’s calm nature is perfect for bustling city life, showing no fear of traffic or urban noises.
New experiences in life are not something that faze him, but due to a healed racing injury, high-energy activities like running or hiking are not ideal for Hodgie. Due to some difficulty with getting in and out of cars, he will need a little assistance, particularly with high vehicles. Lifting an animal this size would not be possible for everyone, but with a little practice, he should adjust quickly. This sweet boy is ready to give and receive love in equal measure. Unfazed by resource guarding or sleep startles, his patience extends to meal times, where he is always willing to share.
He would prefer older children due to his size. His docile nature ensures he'll fit right into a peaceful routine. Hodgie’s history as a retired racer makes his ideal adopters a bit more seasoned, knowledgeable about greyhound care. If your lifestyle leans more toward leisurely walks and relaxing evenings rather than energetic adventures and high-impact play, Hodgie might just be the perfect fit. Let this gentle prince win you over with his tender gaze and unwavering companionship, and you'll find a lifelong friend in Hodgie.
At Homeward Bound Hounds, we pride ourselves on matching the right dog to the right family. We need to know more about you and your home to find the best possible match.
