Meet Clare Bow- Smart, Sensitive, and Full of Potential
Clare Bow is a sweet, stunning and intelligent border collie who is learning all about the world outside for the very first time. She’s human-motivated, eager to connect, and loves being part of the action at home- she’s not especially food-driven, so her training is centred more around building trust, praise, and calm confidence.
Clare Bow has learned to sit and is responding well to gentle, consistent guidance. Right now, her focus in foster care has been on helping her feel safe and relaxed, especially during walks and new experiences. She can sometimes bark at other dogs when on leash (but this is very rare since), this is also never out of aggression, but because she’s still learning how to manage her nerves in unfamiliar situations. For this reason, Clare Bow will need an experienced owner familiar with sensitive or working breeds to continue guiding her with patience and structure.
At home, Clare Bow is a different dog: outgoing, playful, and full of quirky charm. She adores other dogs and would love a confident canine companion, though this isn’t essential. She’s been around brave, dog-savvy cats and got along well, too.
Clare Bow is crate trained and sleeps through the night. She’s had just one accident indoors and appears to be toilet trained, though she doesn’t yet have a way to signal when she needs to go out, so she’s currently taken outside as part of a morning and evening routine.
While Clare Bow loves spending time with her humans, she’s also happy relaxing outside on her own and hasn’t shown signs of separation anxiety. That said, she is prone to forming strong attachments, so her future family will need to support her independence to prevent clinginess developing over time.
She has met children and remained shy, so she’s best suited to a home with dog-experienced kids who will let her come to them at her own pace or would be also happy in a home without children.
Clare Bow is a gentle, sensitive girl who’s come such a long way already. With the right person by her side, she’s going to make the most loyal, clever, and rewarding companion.
