🐾 Meet Alexander Silvanus — Your Gentle Shadow and Loyal Friend
Alexander Silvanus is a sweet-natured, affectionate companion who’s
ready to find his forever home. With a heart as soft as his fur, this
gentle boy has quickly won over his foster family.
💖 Personality & Temperament
Alexander is incredibly loving and thrives on human companionship. He’ll
happily follow you from room to room, always eager to be near his
people.
He’s calm, obedient, and well-mannered indoors, making him a delightful
housemate.
Around other dogs, Alexander can be shy—especially with larger breeds.
He gets along beautifully with his foster family’s dog but prefers to
keep his distance from unfamiliar or big dogs.
He’s gentle and friendly, showing a natural ease and sweetness.
🚶♂️ Walks & Exercise
Alexander enjoys daily strolls (about 30 minutes) and is house-trained.
He walks on a lead but tends to zig-zag and pull a little—nothing a bit
of training and patience won’t fix.
He’s curious on walks and likes greeting people, though he may growl
softly when prompted by his foster sibling.
🏡 Ideal Home
Alexander would thrive in a calm, loving household where he can be part
of the family. A home without large dogs would be best, given his timidness around them but Alexander would love to share his family with a compatible furry friend.
Whether you’re a family, a solo adopter, or a couple looking for a
gentle companion, Alexander is ready to fill your home with warmth and
quiet joy.
🛏️ At Home
Sleeps in his bed in the foster daughter’s bedroom, occasionally
starting the evening on the couch.
Has access to the backyard and uses the doggy door.
Travels okay in the car—sometimes a bit whingy, but he loves looking out
the window.
Alexander Silvanus is a truly lovable soul who deserves a home where he
can feel safe, cherished, and part of the family. If you’re looking for
a gentle companion with a heart full of love, Alexander might just be
your perfect match. 💙

All our dogs are desexed, C5 vaccinated with intranasal, microchipped,
wormed, and flea treated. All necessary vetwork such as dentals,
surgery, eye treatment are also carried out. We are no longer heartworm
testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If
a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer free assistance for six weeks for any issues, a lifetime takeback policy with full refund of the adoption fee, and will always be available to offer advice.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.

Please note that we do not take/make telephone calls prior to receiving an application.
Commonly asked questions and their answers are provided when you email us. Priority will also be given to typed applications which are easier for us to read and to copy relevant parts.
We look forward to receiving your application.
