About Lola (Was Honey)
Meet Honey – A Sweet, Playful, and Affectionate Companion
Honey is a gorgeous young mixed-breed girl, around 25kg, with striking markings and a heart as warm as her name. She’s the perfect mix of playful energy and snuggly affection – the kind of dog who will chase a ball or tug a rope toy with gusto, then curl up beside you for a nap.
Honey is a joy to have around the home. She’s affectionate, responsive, and loves to be part of family life. While she enjoys a good play session, she’s equally happy snoozing after a walk or snuggling up on the couch. She adores human company and would thrive in a home where she isn’t left alone for long stretches.
On walks, Honey is enthusiastic and curious, but she responds well to guidance and walks nicely on lead. She loves to meet new people and will often put her paws up to politely request a belly rub. She’s generally calm in traffic and around noise, and while she hasn’t been tested in busy crowds or cafés, her foster suspects she’d settle well with gentle direction. Honey has lived successfully with another dog before and enjoys meeting new dogs, though she can be a bit overexcited at first and benefits from slow, calm introductions.
Honey is fully housetrained and uses a dog door. She sleeps happily on a dog bed (or occasionally on her foster carer’s bed), and has a secure, gentle nature. She needs a home with a backyard where she can play, and ideally with people around for much of the day. Older children or dog-savvy kids would be fine, as she’s strong and can be boisterous when playing.
One important note: Honey previously lived on a farm and was surrendered after slipping through fencing and chasing livestock. For her safety and theirs, she must go to a home without free-roaming livestock and with secure fencing. She is fine with chickens in an enclosed area. Honey is untested with cats.
If you’re looking for a sweet, cuddly, playful companion who will reward you with endless love and loyalty, Honey is ready to steal your heart.
