About Odie
Odie has had a failed adoption for being too much, too energetic and too busy. Due to Odie being energetic and busy for his breed, he will be happiest with a family with children over 12 that enjoy being active outside and are looking for a new friend to join in with walks, runs, bike rides etc and then to curl up together inside. Because he is fast and is likely to dart in and out of legs he can be a trip hazard. Odie has many years of being active, and eneregetic and has a life expectancy of another 10 -12 years. He has many years ahead of him where he is busy and energetic before he starts to slow down.
Odie requires the following in his new home:
- To be the only pet, no other dogs, cats, birds or chickens etc.
- No children under 12
- A large secure yard.
- Continued training to walk on lead, and how to greet people.
- Odie is not suited to apartment or unit living.
- Not suited to dog parks or off leash unfenced areas.
Odie is very cuddly and affectionate and prefers not to share his people with another dog, he is best suited to a home with no other dogs and isn't suited for dog parks or other off lead spaces. He will need a large interesting yard and daily walks as he is energetic and likes to be busy. His carer describes him as a bit of a cannon ball as he runs to you for pats and love, he is just so eager to please you.
Odie's favourite thing to do is to run and chase toys that you throw, but he has no idea about bringing them back to you, but that is part of the game.
Odie likes to let you know when someone is ringing your door bell and has quiet the bark on him, no one is sneaking past him. When he meets new people he can bark at them and be a little unsure, right up until he receives pats and then he is their friend.
Odie loves car trips especially if the window is down a bit, so he can sniff all the smells passing by.
Odie enjoys the security of his crate, he will go in there for a rest or when he needs his own space during the day and will happy sleep there all night.
Odie responds well to training and his carers are working on him not jumping on people, not to lick peoples hands and to walk on a loose leash. He will need continued training in these areas. He will now sit and wait for his food. He would not be suited living with small animals like birds and cats.

Adoption details
Please note- we do not work on a first in best dressed basis, we assess all applications to choose the home that we believe will best match the animal.
If you believe one of our animals would be a good match for your home please send us a detailed email us with some information about the people and any other animals in your home as well as the type of lifestyle you can offer a new rescue pet.
We are volunteerswho run the rescue around families, paid employment and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require you to travel to meet the animal you are looking to adopt. For dog adoptions, any other dogs in your home musr attend the meet and greet, this enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
We reserve the right to refuse the adoption if we don't believe it's a good match for our animals.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care or we will assist you in finding them a suitable new home, this is a condition thst you agree to when signing our Adoption Agreement.
