About Aurum
Aurum has come into our care sadly as a result of his owner not being able to provide him with the daily exercise and more importantly the socialisation a young dog so badly needs.
Aurum is house trained and voice responsive and is an energetic boy. He has a high toy drive and loves to retrieve and play tug o war. Since being with his foster carer, Aurum has been taught to be social around other male and female German Shepherds.
He is a lovely young dog, but he needs to go to a home with someone who will not let him get away with being disrespectful towards them and being silly, immature and control his cheeky behaviours in the home on a regular basis.
Aurum has had some training with Bear the Dog Behaviourist, and his new home will need to be someone who has experience with young competitive dogs and understands how to meet their needs and keep them stimulated while also teaching him boundaries and maintaining clear rules on a regular basis while he continues to mature.
We always recommend to continue training when you take your dog home. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long and is a great way for you to bond with your new dog.
Aurum has not been tested with cats or pocket pets.
If you have recently owned a German Shepherd or large breed dog, and understand German Shepherd and think you have the commitment to give Aurum a new home, then please click on the link "Enquire about Aurum” and we will send you information about adopting a German Shepherd or go to our website and complete the application form.

If you live in Queensland or Victoria, you can be considered, however you will need to be able to drive with your family to meet him. If for any reason he doesn't fit your family you will be responsible for bringing him back to Sydney.
Medical notes
Aurum will be desexed at 12 months of age as per vet advice.

We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
