Gilligan is a truly sweet and gentle dog with a heart full of love. He adores cuddles, pats, and being by your side, happily shadowing you around the house.
This loving boy absolutely thrives in the company of other dogs and people. He's incredibly sweet and playful, even when other dogs are less polite. He's never one to bark or bite at his canine companions; he just wants to be close. Gilligan is also wonderful with cats, people, and children, demonstrating remarkable patience and a wagging tail even when little ones are a bit boisterous. Gilligan is a lively puppy who thrives on walks, and he absolutely loves getting out and burning off his energy!
Gilligan is a resilient dog who has overcome initial fears with the right care. While he's made incredible progress, he can still react by freezing, rolling on his back and submitting if someone raises their voice or pulls too hard on his lead. A calm and gentle approach is key to his continued confidence. Gilligan has only ever barked and growled at my dad, a mechanic often covered in grease. Gilligan is more at ease with him after my dad has showered and is sitting down. This suggests he may have experienced past trauma involving a blue-collar working man. Otherwise, Gilligan has been loving and happy with all other men and everyone else he's encountered. He has been introduced to over 40 other men and never had any problems.
He's currently used to sleeping on my bed with me and on his own bed when my partner is over but might sneak back on the bed for a morning cuddle! He's highly receptive to learning, so if you prefer him to sleep elsewhere, he'll quickly adapt. He's a quiet companion who rarely barks and, even better, doesn't shed!
He's a well-socialized pup who has comfortably navigated a busy share house with multiple people and a cat, enjoyed dinner parties, trips to the pub, walks at the park, the office, car rides (but can get car sick), and sleepovers in multiple new environments.
For Gilligan to truly flourish, we envision a home with an active resident dog, similar in size or larger, who loves to play as much as he does. He'd adore having a secure, spacious backyard to zoom around in, and a family committed to providing him with ample opportunities for exercise and mental stimulation every day. This will help him grow into a wonderful, well-adjusted companion.
It's been truly heartwarming to watch Gilligan blossom and regain his joyful personality. He's a loving, gentle, and happy dog who would be an absolutely wonderful addition to any family seeking a devoted and affectionate companion.
