Duchess

👋 Hello, My name is Duchess and I’d like to tell you about myself.

💙 I am a sweet gentle girl who loves being around my humans. I am currently staying with larger humans aged 12 and up and am very well mannered with them. I have had younger humans visit me during my stay and I was very gentle with them too. My absolute favorite thing to do is line up for a good belly rub or a game of ‘chase the ball and not give it back’.

🏡 My foster mum isn’t sure if I’ve been an inside or outside dog but I absolutely love being inside napping the day away. I am doing really well with toilet training and sleep all night with no accidents.

👭 I am currently staying with another female dog who I get along with really well. I am a submissive girl. I would love a playmate play with to help with my confidence and show me the way but my foster mum says I would be content being your one and only as well.

📣 In true cocker spaniel fashion, I like to sniff every leaf and rock on my walks. I am still learning how to be calm on my walks and whilst I am not strong enough to really pull on my lead, I am very vocal and like to announce to the street that I am on my way with whimpering and a few quiet yelps.

I absolutely love being with my humans and like to follow them and fall asleep in the same room…or even better, on them. I would need to have a family/human who is home more often than not as I love being with my family and do not like being left alone for long periods. And very importantly: I need a home where I am welcome on the couch with my family. 🤗

💉 Since coming into care it was discovered that I had seizures. I am on medication to control my seizures and am doing well. My medication will be ongoing so I require a family that will continue my treatment and visits to the vet for regular checkups.
