About Harley (59836)
Harley arrived at GAWS after his previous owners found he was unable to safely live alongside chickens and guinea pigs. As a Dalmatian, his natural prey drive plays a significant role in his behaviour, and this will need to be carefully considered in any future home.
Harley is not suited to first-time dog owners and will thrive best with someone who understands the breed and can provide strong, consistent leadership. He requires structure, boundaries, and a training-focused approach to help him continue to develop into the best version of himself.
Harley is house-trained and has been well-socialised with female dogs. He can be selective with male dogs, so a home where he is the only pet would be ideal. He is not suitable for homes with small animals, as his instincts can take over when unsupervised.
While Harley is still working on his lead manners-particularly on a flat collar-he is making steady progress with ongoing training. Due to his energy and temperament, Harley is best suited to a home without children under 12.
With the right guidance and commitment, Harley has incredible potential to be a loyal and rewarding companion.
