Smooth, striking and a little mysterious - Sheridan is as cool as the drink she’s named after.

This gorgeous black and white pup has just landed in loving foster care after travelling in from a remote community. Everything is new right now soft beds, full tummies, loving hands but she’s taking it all in with curiosity and grace.

Sheridan will be learning the ropes of pet life: how to walk on a lead, use her nose for treats not trouble, and maybe even enjoy a bath or two. Because she’s in foster care, we’ll soon know what kind of home will suit her best but early signs suggest she’s ready to soak up all the love and care she’s missed out on.

Sheridan is part of SAFE Newman’s foster-based rescue network, we don’t have a shelter, but you can meet her by sending in an adoption application. Foster care gives us real insight into her personality, making it easier to match her with the right home.

I CAN FLY TO PERTH!

Flying for a few hours is very important for animals in remote locations because it gives us the opportunity to be adopted. Talk to SAFE about flying me to Perth.

4 THINGS TO CONSIDER BEFORE APPLYING:

1. Time Commitment: Owning a dog is a big responsibility and requires a significant commitment of time and energy. Be sure to consider how much time you can realistically dedicate to caring for a dog and make sure you are prepared to make that commitment.

2. Cost: Owning a dog can be expensive. Make sure to consider the cost of food, medical care, toys, and other supplies. You may also want to think about enrolling your dog in obedience classes or hiring a professional dog walker.

3. Space: Depending on the breed, some dogs require a lot of space. Make sure you have enough room in your home and yard to accommodate a dog before making the decision to adopt.

4. Lifestyle: Think about your current lifestyle and how a dog may fit into it. Consider if you have any restrictions such as travel, work hours, or allergies. Also, think about how owning a dog may affect your social life.

NOTES:
Adoption fee includes vet check, first vaccination*, flea and worm treatment, microchipping and sterilisation at a SAFE approved vet at 6 months of age.

*Puppies and dogs may require further vaccination(s) to complete the full vaccination course. This will be at the cost of the new owner and is not included in the adoption fee.
