About Oreo
Meet Oreo – The Big-Hearted Gentle Giant
Oreo came into the care of DCH Animal Adoptions after being abandoned with three other cats, all left behind when their owner’s circumstances changed. Born on 24 October 2022, Oreo has shown incredible patience and sweetness in foster care, waiting for someone to see the gentle, loving soul that lies behind those thoughtful eyes.
Oreo is a striking black-and-white boy with expressive eyes, a bold patch over his mouth like a little moustache, and a long, solid frame that houses a heart of pure gold. While he may need a moment to feel safe, he quickly becomes a purring machine—leaning into pats, rubbing his body against your legs, and nestling beside you as you wind down for the evening.
A model housemate, Oreo is litter-trained, enjoys both wet and dry food, and never causes a fuss. He’s gentle with your belongings—never claws at furniture or misbehaves with shoes or clothes. His playful side comes out with feathers, balls, and plushies, and he’s a confident climber who loves scaling his cat tree. With other cats, Oreo is peaceful and non-confrontational—even when bullied, he simply walks away. He’s the kind of cat who exudes quiet dignity.
Oreo would suit a home where kindness and calm are valued—whether that’s a solo adopter, a couple, or a family with gentle children or other friendly pets. If you’re looking for a calm, loving companion with the soul of a teddy bear, Oreo is ready to bring warmth, companionship, and quiet joy to your life

Our animals are rescued from various pounds and shelters and placed in Foster Care until a permanent home can be found. Our volunteer Foster Carers are located throughout Sydney, Australia and are only too happy to assist you.
DCH Animal Adoptions relies solely on our adoption fees and the generous support of the community to continue our rescue work. Many times, we are faced with large veterinary bills due to the illness and injury that comes along with looking after pound rescues.
