About Colby
Meet Colby – A Gentle Soul Seeking Her Forever Home.
Colby came into the care of DCH Animal Adoptions after being abandoned alongside three other cats due to a change in her owner’s circumstances. While she isn’t related to the other cats, she shared in their confusion and heartbreak. Despite this rocky start, Colby has shown incredible resilience and is now ready for a second chance — with someone who can offer her the stability and affection she so deeply deserves.
Colby is a sleek, elegant black beauty born on 1 July 2022. Her silky black coat, bright golden-green eyes, and graceful frame give her a striking, panther-like appearance. But her personality is as soft as her fur — she’s gentle, affectionate, and quietly loyal. Colby isn’t the type to rush into attention; she prefers to observe and approach on her terms. But once she trusts you, she melts into your side with deep purrs and gentle cuddles, particularly when curled up in bed beside you or lounging under your desk while you work.
She’s a low-maintenance companion with excellent habits. Colby enjoys both wet and dry food and is fully litter-trained (with a particular fondness for pellet litter). She’s incredibly respectful of furniture, clothing, and shoes, and doesn't engage in any destructive behaviour. Her favourite pastime is relaxing on the bed or sitting peacefully by the window, soaking up the sunshine or watching the rain fall outside.
Colby is now desexed, microchipped, and has received her first vaccination. She’s looking for a home — either with a single person, a couple, or a gentle family — where she can take her time to settle in and form a lasting bond. If you value a quiet, elegant, and loving feline companion, Colby may be your perfect match.
Come meet Colby — and give her the happy life she’s patiently waiting for. You might just gain a loyal friend for life.

Our animals are rescued from various pounds and shelters and placed in Foster Care until a permanent home can be found. Our volunteer Foster Carers are located throughout Sydney, Australia and are only too happy to assist you.
DCH Animal Adoptions relies solely on our adoption fees and the generous support of the community to continue our rescue work. Many times, we are faced with large veterinary bills due to the illness and injury that comes along with looking after pound rescues.
