Dakota

Dakota is a beautiful kelpie who was the result of an accidental litter. She and her two brothers lived with their original owner until recently, when they fell on hard times and had to surrender the three pups.

At only 7-8 months old, Dakota is a blank slate, though she’s proving to be a very gentle natured, clever and curious dog. It doesn’t take her long to settle and learn your routine. Being a young dog, she is still learning correct doggy behaviour, and has a few puppy traits like chewing, pushing boundaries and doesn’t like to be left alone. She would benefit greatly from dog school and will need a committed owner willing to put in the effort required when owning a young kelpie.

Dakota is excellent with other dogs and would love a playful and well mannered older dog (18months plus) in her new home to learn from. She loves to play and run with other dogs and enjoys their companionship. Having never lived without another dog for company, we would prefer she goes to a home with another dog or with someone home most of the time.

Dakota is ready to make a great addition to a family or special person who can give her the attention and training she is craving.
