About Dexter
Looking for a calm, gentle companion? Meet Dexter – a handsome, sweet-natured shar pei x labrador who just wants to be loved.
Dexter is a gorgeous, easy-going boy with a heart full of love. Calm and gentle by nature, he adores pats, walks, and simply relaxing with his humans after an adventure. He’s an absolute dream on the lead, obedient, rarely barks, and has great indoor manners (he has never been destructive except when enjoying a meaty bone!). Fully toilet trained and low-maintenance, Dex would thrive in either a house or apartment, as long as he gets two daily walks.
Dexter truly blossoms in the company of another relaxed, chilled dog and needs a home where he has a canine companion. Puppies can be a bit much for him, but he does enjoy adult dog company and may join in a game if a doggy friend invites him to play. He’s not fussed about toys or chasing balls on his own.
Having come from a tough start in life with little affection, Dexter is slowly learning that the world can be kind. He can be timid, nervous and anxious, especially around men, but never shows a hint of aggression—just quiet fear that melts away with patience and love. Once he knows he’s safe, his affectionate, loyal nature shines.
Dex is deeply loved by his foster family, who describe him as incredibly sweet and easy to live with. He’s looking for a gentle, loving home with another dog to show him the ropes and humans who will offer kindness, attention and security as he continues to gain confidence and thrive.
This beautiful boy has so much to give. He just needs the right home to give it to.
If you have a loving home, love a good walk, and have a calm doggo looking for a best mate, Dexter might be the perfect fit.
