About Tom
Meet Tom - Your Easy-Going, Ball-Chasing, Couch-Loving Mate!
Say hello to Tom - a bright-eyed, bushy-tailed Border Collie mix with a heart full of love and a perfect balance of energy and chill. At 4 years old, Tom's got the best of both worlds: the smarts and spirit of his breed, paired with the maturity to know when it's time to play and when it's time to snuggle.
Tom is, in a word, ball-mad. No tennis ball is ever left behind when Major Tom is in command - he's on a mission and takes his fetching duties very seriously! Whether it's a game of backyard fetch or a park play session, he's your go-to teammate for high-energy fun.
He's also a well-mannered gentleman who's mastered the basics - great on lead, responsive to commands, and always eager to please. He'd thrive in a dog-social home, either with a friendly resident dog or regular canine visitors (especially for those Saturday footy gatherings - Tom's a loyal Bulldogs fan but promises not to bark at rival jerseys).
Once playtime's over, Tom is all about couch cuddles and family time. He'd love an inclusive home where he can be part of the action, join in on family adventures, and happily hang out with kids of all ages. He's gentle, playful, and always up for a new game or backyard escapade.
If you're looking for a loyal mate with a rocket-fueled fetch drive and a heart of gold, Tom's your guy.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
