About Shelby
Meet the lovable boy Shelby ,Your Fluffy Ray of Sunshine!
Shelby is a stunning 1 year old Japanese Spitz who came into care as a private surrender.
Shelby has a heart full of love and a cheeky spark that makes every day feel a little brighter. With his snowy white coat and cheeky grin, Shelby turns heads everywhere he goes and he knows it too!
Shelby is a confident little guy who loves attention, cuddles, and a good game of fetch, although he’s still working on the concept of giving the toy back!
Shelby love his adult humans but is unfortunately not a fan of children, So Shelby would need a home with no children, this is a must.
Shelby is toilet trained and can confidently uses a doggy door like a pro.
While Shelby’s not crate trained, he sleeps soundly through the night, either snuggled up on his foster carer’s bed or curled into his own comfy spot. Shelby is the ultimate lap dog and loves nothing more than being close to his humans, ideally on the couch where he can soak up cuddles and sneak in a snooze.
Shelby has plenty of energy and thrives on his daily walks, usually around 1– 2km. He’s excellent on the lead and enjoys exploring the neighbourhood, happily soaking in all the pats and compliments from admirers along the way. After a good walk or a playful romp with his toys, Shelby winds down into cuddle mode and is content to relax with you for the evening.
When it comes to other dogs, Shelby is generally friendly but can sometimes be a bit full-on, especially with smaller dogs who might find his enthusiasm overwhelming. He would do best as the only dog in the home where he can soak up all the love and attention he craves.
Shelby isn’t particularly fond of cats and hasn’t been tested with other small animals, so a home without other small animals would be ideal.
Shelby is a curious little character who loves to follow you from room to room, just to keep tabs on what you're doing and make sure he’s not missing out on anything fun. He’s not a big barker, but he is known to make the most wonderfully strange little noises as he gets comfortable.
it’s one of his quirkiest and most endearing traits. Shelby’s ’s not a huge fan of the vacuum, but he’ll happily chill outside playing while the cleaning gets done.
Brushing is a highlight of Shelby’s day. Like many dogs with a beautiful coat like his, he requires regular grooming, but he enjoys every minute of it, especially when tasty treats are involved.
This sweet, spirited boy doesn’t need constant attention, but with the right balance of play, affection, and structure, he will become a loyal, loving companion.
Shelby is ready to find his forever home, could it be with you?
