About Scout
🚨Attention Border Collie Lovers🚨
Scout is a stunning 17 month old, long haired Border Collie who is a typical teenage boy, full of enthusiasm, joy and happy to push boundaries!! As with all young dogs, Scout is still learning rules and good boy behavior, but is coming along very well. He is very food motivated, which is a bonus.
Scout is great with other dogs, big and small, but not suited to a home with cats or pocket pets. He is being crate trained for nights and is adapting to that very well. His recall is a skill that will require more work, however it has improved since being in care. He can be bouncy and a little mouthy when stressed or unsure, so for that reason we will be recommending a home with no children under 12. Scout is also excellent at jumping, so a secure yard is a must.
Scout will need ongoing training to consolidate the basics and to improve his lead skills, so it would be necessary for him to attend dog training to ensure he becomes the best doggo possible. Scout will do best in an experienced home where he can be part of the family and included in activities and outings. He loves the car, so taking him along is easy. Scout can be a little anxious so helping him to build resilience and confidence with puzzle toys and problem solving would be perfect.
