About Buddy
Please meet BUDDY, a gentle and well-mannered Aussie Bulldog/Bullmastiff mix, born in October 2020.
Buddy was very reluctantly surrendered to us by his devoted family, due to a change in living circumstances and through no fault of his own.
Standing no taller than a blue cattle dog and weighing around 35kgs, Buddy will fit into most homes.
His foster mum, who's had a lifetime of experience with large breed dogs, has this to say about him:
"Buddy is a total sweetheart and so easy to live with. If I didn't already have seven dogs, he'd be staying with me. He is gentle and loving towards my grandchildren, the youngest of whom is six. He's tolerant of my yapping baby Pug. He is extremely placid and relaxed. He rarely barks, but when he does, it's a big, deep Bullmastiff bark, the type that would deter any intruder. He is protective of his family, especially the females. Buddy is an absolute pleasure and whoever takes him into their home and heart will be getting the best, easiest and well-mannered dog."
Buddy is crate-trained and house-trained.
He would do best as an only dog, not because he's dog-aggressive, but simply because he's very people-focused and prefers not to share the love and attention of his family. He is walks nicely with another dog on leash.
With a proper introduction, Buddy is cat-friendly and has become quite fond of the resident cat at his foster home.
He's fine with poultry.
His exercise needs are modest. A 30-minute walk a day is enough to keep him happy.
If you're looking for a loyal, intelligent, and undeniably endearing companion who will be a joy to live with, please consider Buddy.
