Meet Kerala, a gorgeous, loving, clever, sweet boy.

Kerala started out shy and nervous but with love, patience, and treats, he’s come out of his shell and is ready to shine! He is on the small side of Medium, currently weighing in at 13kg, but looking to put a couple more on.

He’s a smart, friendly boy who loves people and other dogs — especially a playful dog buddy who doesn’t mind cuddles.

Kerala is great with everyone he meets and has a calm, respectful way around dogs who aren’t as interested in playing. While he hasn’t met kids in care, his gentle, friendly nature suggests he’d do well with dog-savvy children.

He’s a quick learner who’s picked up lots of good manners—he sits on command, waits patiently while you prepare food, and is learning more every day. Kerala loves being indoors with his people, enjoys cuddles on the couch, and is happy to sleep in his own room or crate if you prefer (though I am sure he would adore being closer to you while he sleeps if that is your preference).

Kerala loves playing fetch and tug and while he will happily play on his own, he truly shines when you join in the fun. He adores pats, belly rubs and cuddling on the couch (but sometimes needs to spread out on the floor if he gets too hot).

He is fine with being left home alone for short spells, but would probably prefer to have a canine companion if he is going to be left for long stints regularly.

He is still a little unsure about cars, but is making progress. He is doing really well learning to walk on a leash in quiet areas. His new family will need to keep building his confidence out in the big wide world.

As he gains weight and confidence, his true nature is shining through, he is an energetic dog, who would do great with a family with working dog experience and a fellow doggy companion that is happy to actively play. He would also love to have a decent sized back yard to play in.

His perfect forever home will have lots of love, gentle training, someone home often, and maybe another friendly playful dog friend. Kerala’s heart is full of love and fun, and he can’t wait to be a part of your family!
