About Bert
G'day everyone! My name's Bert, and while my foster family has a few nicknames for me (Mr. Reynolds, Snuggle Bug, Goofball – you get the idea!), Bert is the one that really sticks. I'm a handsome 2-year-old Kelpie cross boy who's ready to find my forever home.
I absolutely adore people! Meeting new friends is one of my favourite things, and sometimes my excitement gets the better of me. But don't worry, my foster carers are helping me learn to greet new faces with a bit more calm, and I'm doing really well! I'm a big fan of snuggles and cuddles, and I'll happily soak up all the pats you can give.
While I love to be close to my humans, being inside can still feel a little overwhelming for me. We're taking things slowly, and I'm making progress, but I'm definitely most comfortable in the great outdoors right now. With a bit of patience and understanding, I think I could learn to love indoor snuggles too!
I love playing with other dogs and get along well with everyone I meet. My foster sister sometimes tells me off when I get a bit too excited, and I always respect her boundaries. I can sit and I am working really hard to master stay, but not quite there yet.
If you're an active family, I'm your man! I'll happily go on as many walks as you can take me on – I'm told I walk beautifully on the lead, never pull, and I'm not bothered by other dogs. Plus, I'm a fantastic road trip buddy and travel super well in the car.
Being a working dog I am looking for a home that understands my breed and energy levels, I do like daily walks and I'm loving the enrichment activities my carers are leaving for me when they are not home. I would be ok as an only dog, but having a friend would be pretty awesome as well.
I'm truly the happiest, goodest boy, and I promise you won't be disappointed if you welcome me into your home. If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate, and fun-loving companion who's eager to learn and explore, I might just be the perfect fit.
Bert is located in VIC.

You can also write out your answers and email them to dogs@dogs4jobs.com.au
*Please note, due to the high volume of applications received, we will not respond to Petrescue chat messages, or enquiries to adopt a dog. You must complete our adoptions form to be considered for the dog or pup, and we will respond to this form via our email.
We will then request to complete a yard check, or for you to send in photos of your yard showing the fencing, space, shelter and any hazards etc, to confirm it is safe and secure, as well as adequate space for a working breed dog.
Following this, we will then put you in touch with the dog/s foster carer/s that you are interested in, to chat further over the phone, about whether the dog is a good fit for your family, and vice versa. We are searching for the perfect match for each dog and their needs. We offer interstate adoption on all of our dogs.
