About Goose
đ About Goose
Goose is a sweet and gentle young girl whoâs just beginning her journey to learn about the world. She came into foster care in late August and is already showing signs of being a quick learner and a loving companion.
Though she didnât know any commands when she arrived, sheâs now working on âsitâ and is very food motivatedâwhich makes training a breeze! She takes treats gently, eats politely, and isnât food possessive, making her a great fit for multi-pet households.
đĄ In the Home
Goose is currently living with another young male dog and is learning the ropes by watching himâespecially when it comes to getting comfy on the furniture! Sheâs toilet trained, non-destructive, and can be left alone without issue. She doesnât jump up on people and is settling in beautifully.
Sheâs good with being handled, including her paws, and is making progress with her ears and teeth. Sheâs still a little confused and adjusting, but her gentle nature shines through. Sheâs shown no issues with a crying baby and seems like sheâd be great with children (a toddler test is coming soon!).
đ Out & About
Goose was initially unsure about walks and car ridesâshe didnât understand the lead and was nervous about the car. But sheâs made amazing progress: she now jumps into the car on her own and settles quickly, especially when close to her foster buddy Axel. Her lead work is surprisingly good for a dog with little prior experience.
đ What Goose Needs
Goose is a young shepherd mix with plenty of energy and curiosity. Sheâs very interested in other dogs and loves to play, so sheâll thrive with someone who can support her ongoing socialisation and help her learn that she doesnât need to get overexcited every time she sees another dog.
Sheâs excited to learn and needs a home that can keep up with her training and provide regular exerciseâwhether thatâs walks, enrichment activities, or playtime. If thereâs no other dog in the home, sheâll need extra stimulation to keep her happy and balanced.
That said, she also loves to nap near you and enjoys quiet time just as much as play.
đ¶ Ideal Home
Goose would thrive in a home thatâs ready to continue her training with patience and love. Sheâd do well with another friendly dog to show her the ropes or as a solo pup with plenty of human attention. A family with kids or a calm household would both suit her wellâespecially one that understands the needs of a young, energetic shepherd mix.
