For those who followed the "Peppercorns" story, you might just recognize this charming face! Alfie, one of Pepper's original "Village-born" puppies, is back with the Village Tails team. Due to a change in his previous family's circumstances, this handsome boy is now seeking his true forever home – and he's more ready than ever for his next chapter!
About Alfie:
A Social Butterfly: Alfie is a super social guy who loves nothing more than getting out for a good "snifferoo" walk and meeting new people. He thrives on adventure and exploring the big wide world!
Walks Like a Dream (Mostly!): While he might grumble initially about wearing his halti, Alfie walks beautifully once he's in it, eager to enjoy his outings.
Home Sweet Home: He's an impeccably house-trained boy, with no lazy accidents here! He's not a nuisance barker, but he makes a reliable doorbell, letting you know when visitors arrive.
Future Road Tripper: Car trips aren't currently his favourite pastime, but with your patience and reassurance, Alfie is eager to build his confidence and make car rides a positive experience.
Couch Potato Extraordinaire: After a day of adventures, Alfie loves nothing more than snuggling up on the couch (if allowed!) for some quality Netflix time and checking in with his favourite people.

Adult-Only or Dog-Savvy Teens: Alfie can display some nippy behaviour around his food. For his safety and yours, he requires an adult-only household or one with very dog-savvy older teenagers where feeding routines can be carefully managed, ensuring no little fingers are tempted with his meals.
Companionship is Key: He prefers company and would thrive in a home where someone is around more often than not. Alternatively, the companionship of a confident, friendly resident dog would help him settle and feel secure.
Experienced Hand: An owner with some experience in positive reinforcement training and managing dog behaviour would be ideal to continue his development and build his confidence.

At Village Tails, we strive to make the adoption process as seamless as possible. We understand that bringing a new pet into your home is a big decision that will enrich your life in countless ways. That’s why we’ve developed a clear, step-by-step guide to help you find your perfect match and provide a loving home for one of our precious animals. Our dedicated team is here to support you every step of the way, from your initial interest to the joyful day you bring your new friend home.
How to Adopt: A Step-By-Step Guide:
1. Browse Our Selection: Visit our Animals page and use the menu to view the various pets we have available. Choose between cats and dogs to narrow your search.
2. Expression of Interest: Found a pet that captures your heart? Reach out to us for an Expression of Interest (EOI) form to initiate the process.
3. Patience is a Virtue: We meticulously review every EOI to ensure each animal goes to the right home. Thank you for your patience during this critical stage.
4. Meet Your Potential Pet: If your EOI is approved, we'll organise a Meet & Greet session. It’s a great opportunity for both you and the animal to see if it’s a perfect match.
5. Adoption Application & Home Review: If you're ready to move forward, you'll need to complete our adoption application and agree to a home review.
6. Review & Approval: Your application and home review will be assessed to guarantee a secure, loving environment for your potential pet.
7. Adoption Fee: Upon approval, you'll be required to pay the non-negotiable adoption fee. This fee directly supports our animal care efforts.
8. Welcome Home: Once the fee is processed, we'll coordinate the special day when you can bring your new pet home.
