About Blue
Part Cattle Dog, Part Shadow – 100% Good Boy💙
Blue is a 1-year-old Cattle Dog mix who arrived with his siblings from a rural pound. His start in life was far from ideal, but this resilient boy is a true survivor after bravely beating the dreaded parvo.
Because he spent some time recovering, Blue had a slower introduction to the outside world. Fast forward a few months and he’s now learning so much and absolutely thriving.
Blue has always loved water and playing with the hose, but he has recently discovered his passion for the beach. His foster carer reports that he has fantastic recall — mostly because he can’t wait to get back by your side. Some might call him clingy, but we call it true love. While he enjoys being close to his people, he is also comfortable being left on his own. Blue has turned into quite the snuggler and loves being close for cuddles.
Blue would love a home with a furry sibling, as he really enjoys connection. A calm canine companion would help him continue learning good doggy etiquette.
Being a Cattle Dog mix, Blue does need daily exercise to keep his active mind and body happy, so his new family will need to commit to one to two walks each day.
When first meeting new people, Blue can be a little nervous and unsure so he does need slow introductions as he can be a little insecure. With some gentle reassurance though, he quickly settles and goes back to doing his own thing — he just likes to take a moment to suss people out. He also makes a great little guard dog and will happily alert you when someone arrives at the house.
Blue has been so unlucky in life so far and truly deserves his happy ever after.

How to Adopt: A Step-By-Step Guide:
1. Browse Our Selection: Visit our Animals page and use the menu to view the various pets we have available. Choose between cats and dogs to narrow your search.
2. Expression of Interest: Found a pet that captures your heart? Reach out to us for an Expression of Interest (EOI) form to initiate the process.
3. Patience is a Virtue: We meticulously review every EOI to ensure each animal goes to the right home. Thank you for your patience during this critical stage.
4. Meet Your Potential Pet: If your EOI is approved, we'll organise a Meet & Greet session. It’s a great opportunity for both you and the animal to see if it’s a perfect match.
5. Adoption Application & Home Review: If you're ready to move forward, you'll need to complete our adoption application and agree to a home review.
6. Review & Approval: Your application and home review will be assessed to guarantee a secure, loving environment for your potential pet.
7. Adoption Fee: Upon approval, you'll be required to pay the non-negotiable adoption fee. This fee directly supports our animal care efforts.
8. Welcome Home: Once the fee is processed, we'll coordinate the special day when you can bring your new pet home.
