About Gummy Bear
*In foster care in Ashfield, Sydney*
If there's an empty lap in the same home as Gummy Bear, it won't be free for long! This gorgeous girl likes to be as close to your heartbeat as possible, and she'll climb right up onto you to get there - whether you're on the couch or in bed - before demanding endless kisses and scratches :)
Gummy came from a garden colony where her carer wanted a better future for her. She's thrived in foster care and LOVES people and cuddles however she still has a bit of that street life vigilance in her. Gummy can be spooked easily and is still learning that inside life is safe! It may take some time for Gummy to adjust to new surroundings, but once she does, you'll see her gorgeous personality shine through.
Upon her arrival in rescue, Gummy Bear had to have all her teeth removed (hence her name). This doesn't impact her life at all and there's even a bonus, for her AND her new human/s - no dental cleanings ever!
A big sweetie pie who loves attention more than anything else in the world, this absolute cuddle bear is ready to take over your home and your heart!
Like all Maggie's pets, Gummy Bear is microchipped, desexed and vaccinated.

MY IDEAL HOME: ... will be relatively calm and relaxed, with at least one person who's committed to snuggling and cuddling! I'm very sociable and enjoy being a part of the action but I can still be spooked by noises when I'm newly settling in.
MY ENERGY LEVEL: I do have bursts of energy, like any cat my age - but I looooove to sleep! I'll sleep happily on my own until someone looks like they might have some free space, then I'll climb up and sleep on them instead. In fact, the very first time I came out of hiding in my foster home, I crept across the floor to my carer to size her up - then jumped straight onto her stomach, flopped down on her throat, and slept for three hours while purring away. It's become my signature move!
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: Though I crave attention, I'm not a rough-housing type of kitty - so gentle-hearted and patient older children sound ok to me. My life was pretty scary at the start, so I can be spooked by noises and strangers.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: I'm very familiar with other cats, having grown up in a colony. Generally I'm curious but cautious around them. With time, patience and space, I believe I could do well in a home with another feline friend.
Probably best for a home without dogs.
Medical notes
Upon her arrival in rescue, Gummy Bear had to have all her teeth removed (hence her name). This doesn't impact her life at all and she's very healthy now. She is FIV negative

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
