About Buster
š¾ Meet Buster: Your Tug-of-War Champion & Adventure Buddy! š¾
If youāre seeking an adventure partner who doubles as a professional tug-of-war expert, Buster might be the boy for you! At 5 years and 10 months old, this black-and-white Border Collie has a heart full of love and a lust for life.
š Personality & Routine
Buster adores human company and will shower you with affection ā especially in the form of enthusiastic licks to any exposed skin! He thrives on daily tug-of-war games, long on-leash walks, and a predictable routine. Once heās had his exercise (90+ minutes per day), heās more than happy to snooze peacefully in his cozy bed while you go about your day.
Buster is a family dog through and through. Heās used to being left inside alone for several hours during the day but equally loves hopping into the car to join his people on outings.
š§ Needs & Sensitivities
Buster's perfect match is someone who understands that even good boys have quirks:
He was born with malformed ear drums, which donāt limit his hearing but do come with a few unique traits you'll need to learn about.
He has no off-leash recall, so he'll need all exercise in secure areas or on-lead walks. As a result, his perfect home will have a good sized enclosed yard or larger property to run and play in.
Loud or sudden noises (especially crying or barking) can trigger anxiety. This means being left home-alone outside can be an issue if there are neighboring barking dogs. Heās currently taking anti-anxiety medication, and his forever family will need to continue this journey thoughtfully ā potentially adjusting his treatment alongside a trusted vet or trainer.
šØāš©āš§ Home Requirements
People: Buster's ideal home is a very active household who will fully integrate him into their lives. He loves children and could live happily with dog-savvy kids aged 5+, but would do best in a relatively calm household. If your home leans more calm than chaotic, and youāre committed to nurturing Busterās wellbeing, heāll repay you with loyalty, laughter, and licks.
Animals: Heās lived harmoniously with cats and a canine sibling, though when meeting unfamiliar dogs, he can become anxious and tends to āfreeze.ā A calm, confident dog companion would suit him well ā or heād be content as the only pet if youāre up for solo adventures together.
If Buster sounds like he could be a perfect match for you, fill out the application form below! Please be sure to include details of how you will meet his high exercise and mental stimulation needs along with caring for his anxiety and hearing issues.
