About Harley
Harley is a loving, loyal girl with a big heart and plenty of classic Kelpie energy. She’s affectionate, intelligent, and happiest when she’s included in her people’s daily life.
Very loving and loyal
Can be anxious when first meeting other dogs, but loves the dog park
Lives with a relaxed and assertive cat
Plays well with dogs she knows
Jumps up when visitors arrive (seeking attention – needs to be on lead & more training)
Loves to snuggle on the couch and watch TV
Prone to zoomies
Loves belly rubs
Will bark and chase birds flying over the backyard
Doesn’t like loud noises (vacuum, blender, lawn mower, doorbell)
Doesn’t enjoy walks on busy streets due to traffic
Can become restless without enough physical and mental stimulation
Currently living with a small dog she likes to snuggle
Being rehomed due to owner illness
Enjoys snuggling and being close to her humans
Would thrive with regular park visits, off-lead time, or beach outings
Needs a calm, patient home that will continue her training and provide enrichment
Harley is a smart girl and understands a whole bunch of words, including:
Sit, Wait, Lie Down, Snuggle, Safe Spot (sits between your legs)
Come, Toilet, “Do you want to eat?”, “Are you okay?” (She’ll come and jump up)
Take it (she waits for permission to eat), Look at me, Yuk (stop touching/eating something)
Off (stop jumping), Bedtime, Naughty girl, Ugh (gentle scold or redirection)
Up, go get it, bring it here, drop it
She’s also quite expressive and will nudge you with her nose, bring you a toy, or place her paw on you if she feels she’s being ignored too long.
Being a very intelligent girl, Harley is a great training companion. She will need a home committed to ongoing positive reinforcement as she learns her new way of life and yours. A family or single-person home would best suit, with someone committed to her exercise and mental stimulation needs, she has a lot of energy and loves long walks, playing and zoomies with the humans. She’s a fast learner, food-motivated and easy to train and has learnt so much already, she will be keen to show you.
This little red girl is looking for her new love, are you?
Medical notes
Harley is desexed, microchipped and up to date with vaccinations and parasite control.
She is in perfect health.
