About Rowdy
Meet ROWDY, a gentle and affectionate red and tan Kelpie who's taking his first steps towards a brighter future after being rescued from the pound by ARK.
Rowdy has emerged from his shell, revealing a sweet, intelligent nature, which is so typical of the Kelpie. Weighing about 16 kgs, Rowdy has massive potential to be a loving and loyal life-long companion.
Gaining confidence in the world around him after a very rough period as an impounded stray, Rowdy thrives on human and canine connections. He arrived at his new foster home with his tail tucked firmly between his legs. He was so paralysed with fear that he had to be carried out of the car. Twenty four hours later, he was relaxing on the counch with his human foster family and his canine foster brother, Finlay. As you can see in the photos, Rowdy and Finlay have a bit of a bromance going.
This is what his foster mum has to say about Rowdy:
"Rowdy is going so well and he looks great. His coat is now soft and shiny. I've worked out that he's an old soul - gentle, calm - and he loves the cat, much to poor old Fergie's disgust. His sensitive soul will be completely loyal to his new family. He would love a family with another dog or two because he loves our Finlay so much. Oh, and he's house and crate trained!"
Kelpies are known for their intelligence, loyalty and mild temperament, and Rowdy is no exception. He's eager to learn, eager to please, and eager to have a home and family of his own.
Rowdy's perfect home is one where he gets abundant physical and mental stimulation and is regarded as an integral member of a loving family. The more love he gets, the more he will give. Rowdy will be the perfect companion, never far from your side.
So if you’re ready to open up your heart and home to a mild-mannered and loving bundle of Kelpie joy, consider making Rowdy part of your family.
As always, secure fencing is essential. Prior Kelpie experience will be highly regarded and if you already have a Kelpie or other compatibe dog or two, Rowdy would be super pleased.
