Meet Sammy!
🐶 3-Year-Old Jack Russell Terrier
💙 Male | 8.8kg (needs to be 7.5–7.8kg)

Sammy is a fun-loving, cheeky little character who adores being part of the action. At 3 years old, he’s full of life but also knows how to chill out and relax. He’s great with other friendly dogs and enjoys nothing more than running around and playing with his canine mates.

He’s also good with dog-savvy children who understand when he needs his space. Sammy is fully toilet trained and sleeps peacefully through the night ideally curled up on your bed, where he feels safe and content.

Sammy does come with a couple of quirks, as many Jack Russells do! He has a little anxiety that’s well managed with a combination of daily supplements and a morning dose of anxiety medication. Because of this, he can be a bit head-shy with pats and cautious around new people. He will bark when visitors arrive or when someone comes to the door, but this settles quickly once he’s comfortable.

He’s not overly fond of being picked up or smothered with cuddles, but he absolutely loves to be near you sitting beside you on the couch or pottering around the house keeping you company. He’s affectionate in his own way and builds deep bonds once trust is formed.

Sammy is a well mannered little guy who knows to sit for his food and behaves beautifully in the car. In fact, he’s quite the road trip companion!

Due to a bit of over loving in his previous home, Sammy is currently 8.8kg and needs to lose about a kilo. Daily walks (which he lives for) and a sensible feeding plan will help him return to a healthy weight.

His ideal home:
Sammy thrives in an environment full of adventure, fun, and activity. He would love a home where there’s always something going on whether it's walks, playtime, or tagging along on outings. He prefers not to be left home alone all day and would do best in a home where someone is often around and there are other dogs to keep him company.

He is currently living in a foster home with four home-schooled kids and a busy household, and he’s absolutely thriving in that environment. Sammy loves to be part of the action and enjoys a family lifestyle where he’s included as one of the crew.
