About David
Meet David & Goliath - The Brave Brothers with Hearts as Big as Their Names
Picked up off the streets with only each other to rely on...
That's how the story of David and Goliath began - two young Blue Heeler brothers found themselves at the shelter gates, alone and uncertain, with no one coming to claim them. But these boys weren't about to let that be the end of their story.
Despite their rough start, David and Goliath have shown incredible resilience and heart. That's why we named them after two unlikely warriors - not just because of their bond, but because they've already overcome so much, together.
At just a few months old, they are in their critical socialization period - the perfect time to help shape them into the confident, well-rounded companions they were born to be. While they're still figuring out the world, they're already showing beautiful glimpses of their true nature: gentle, affectionate, eager to learn, and desperate to trust.
David tends to be the quieter thinker of the two, cautiously curious and sweetly observant. Goliath? A little bolder, always ready to take the lead and dive headfirst into a cuddle or a new adventure. Together, they balance each other beautifully - and will melt your heart twice as fast. Seeking homes individually, preferably with another dog willing to mentor a young pup.
These boys are looking for a special kind of home - one that understands the patience and love it takes to raise a young pup right. Ideally, a family or individual ready to put in the time, structure, and socialization they need, and help them discover that the world isn't so scary after all. They are willing and ready to leave each others company and form that new bond with a new family.
Are you ready to change the story for David and Goliath?
Let's rewrite their future - one full of tail wags, belly rubs, and the kind of love that turns "forgotten" into "forever."
(And hey, let's see the writers of Bluey top this one 😉)

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
