Jean

This precious lady is Jean.
Actually, her name isn’t actually Jean but that is what we call her.
Why?
Her name is “Eggplant” but we all know what the eggplant emoji is used for so we decided to call her the much more dignified “Aubergine”.
From there, it was quickly shortened to “Jean” and we all felt that Jean was a much better fit for her.
Nobody knows Jean’s actual age, but the pound staff put her as 12. I personally think she is probably a bit younger, but she could actually be older……. nobody knows for sure.
Jean is a Schipperke (pronounced Skip er key), a breed originating from Belgium. Schipperkes were developed to be guard dogs and control vermin on the barges. Jean however, is a very sweet natured girl whose favourite place is on the couch!
Although she is quite independent, Jean is good with other dogs and with cats. She pretty much ignores them. Truth be told, she probably looks down on them all a little bit but at her stage in life, she has earned that right.
Jean came to us with a terribly rotten and infected mouth. She needed almost all of her teeth removed but she is now happy, healthy and pain free!
Jean would love a calm, loving retirement home and she MUST have access to the couch. Jean is a bright, sweet, confident girl and she has plenty of life ahead of her.
