About Smokey
Meet Smokey - Our Big Blue Gentleman
Looking for a mature, grey gentleman with charm, size, and personality? Look no further than Smokey - our beautiful blue boy with a heart as full as his belly!
Smokey came into AWL care after his previous owner could no longer look after him. A little larger than life, Smokey is a cat who knows what he likes - a sunny window ledge, a cosy cube bed (though he might be squeezing in a little more than he should!), and a good meal.
Smokey is best suited to a solo cat home. We're currently trialling him with a very friendly foster cat, but Smokey prefers to keep his distance - hissing and backing off. While it's possible he might warm up over time, we feel he'll be happiest as your one and only feline companion.
This big boy enjoys weaving around your legs, keeping an eye on the world from the window, and basking in sunbeams. He lived with older children in his previous home and would be fine in a home with respectful older kids.
Smokey could benefit from a little diet and exercise (less food, more movement!), but his sweet and calm nature more than makes up for his fluffier figure.

Smokey is currently in foster care in the Hills District of Sydney.
Adoption details
STUFF YOU NEED TO KNOW: I will come desexed, vaccinated (1st F3) and microchipped and will have up to date worm and flea treatments.
ADOPTING ME: You must be able to provide me with a loving long term and safe home. I would be fine in an apartment as long as I didn't have free run of the balcony if it wasn't fully enclosed. Please ensure your house or apartment can contain a cat inside (ie fly screens etc).
Please remember that I have thought seriously about taking you on and when you take me home, I am committing to you for life. So, I hope you have thought seriously about this and are likewise planning on committing to me.
ABOUT YOU: Given you know all about me, my foster parents would like to know something about who my new parents are going to be. They have rescued me and have given me a lot of care and love. I know they love me and therefore want the best for me.
ABOUT US: AWL Western Suburbs branch wants to promote adoptions of cats from our foster carers & pounds. If you would like to help us, please feel free to contact us and find out how you may assist, including being a foster parent.
All adoptions will require a Pre-adoption application form completed and returned prior to a meet & greet with our cats. Please note that several people may be applying for the same cat so we need time to review all applicants. We do not re-home to the first to apply, we re-home to who best suits the needs of the cat or kitten. All applications will be considered individually and approval will be at the discretion of the AWL NSW Branch Representative, with their decision being final.
