About Charlie
Meet Charlie, an irresistibly cheeky little Jack Russell with a big personality and even bigger heart.
Charlie has come into care as a private surrender (through no fault of his own) at 4 years and 10 months old and weighing a healthy 8.7kg.
Charlie stands proud at 40cm and is a bundle of energy with equal parts zoomies and snuggles.
Charlie is the kind of dog who lights up the room with a wag of his tail and keeps you laughing with his lovable antics. Whether he’s tearing around the backyard after his beloved soccer ball (he's quite the soccer player) playing fetch, running around with the kids for hours or settled on the lounge, curled up snoozing next to one of his humans, Charlie brings joy in every moment.
Charlie is toilet trained and has mastered the art of using a doggy door like a pro. While he’s not crate trained, he’s more than happy sleeping in a comfy dog bed alongside his foster siblings. His favorite spots in the house include the lounge for maximum cuddles, the kitchen for “accidental” chef treats, and of course, the backyard where he can entertain himself (and you) for hours with his impressive ball games.
Charlie's a smart, alert little guy who makes an excellent guard dog, always letting you know when someone is approaching his domain. While he has plenty of playful energy, he also knows how to wind down and chill out. Charlie enjoys long walks and can go for decent stroll, although he sometimes gets a little overexcited on the lead and benefits from gentle reminders to slow down and relax.
Charlie is a sweet boy who absolutely adores kids. He’s currently chills out with his foster family's seven-year-old child and happily interacts with toddlers right through to teenagers.
He’s also very dog-social and currently shares his home with 2 other friendly dogs in his current foster home.
Charlie would ideally suit a home with another dog for company. He thrives on companionship and tends to find creative ways to entertain himself, like digging treasure holes for his toys, when left alone for too long or gets bored, so another fur friend is definitely a must for Charlie.
While Charlie hasn’t been cat-tested, he does live peacefully with three chickens, showing more interest in what tasty snacks might be hidden in their coop than in the birds themselves.
He’s an incredibly polite boy who waits for permission before entering the house, takes treats ever so gently, and brings a delightful sense of humor to every day.
Charlie’s ideal home would be one with a tall fence, as this little guy has springs in his legs and can jump surprisingly high for someone of his short stature but is not an escape artist or jumped the fence.
Charlie's motivated by treats, toys, and affection, especially a good back scratch. In return, he’ll bring boundless love, laughter, and plenty of personality into your life.
If you’re after a spirited, sweet-natured companion who’s always up for fun and just as happy to curl up by your side, Charlie might just be the perfect boy for you.
Are you and your family the perfect match for Charlie?

Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
