Clara - 7 Year Old Pomeranian X

Meet Clara, a 7-year-old Pomeranian looking for her forever home. Clara is a sweet and affectionate little lady who loves to snuggle and be close to her people. Her gentle nature and fluffy coat make her a joy to have around, and she greets her humans with a happy little spin when they come home.

Clara enjoys a calm, predictable routine and likes to lounge near her carer or explore the home at her own pace. She loves being brushed and will gently place her paws on your knees when she wants a cuddle or back rub. Clara is also very tolerant with children and isn’t fazed by noise or playful energy, making her a great option for families or first-time dog owners.

Clara knows how to sit and shake for a treat and travels well in the car, calmly sitting in the back seat. She walks nicely on the lead and doesn’t pull, but may react to larger dogs if they approach her. Her recall is good at home, though she’s still working on it in open spaces. Clara can also be a little watchdog and will bark to alert you when someone walks past the house. She’s very curious and particularly interested in watching the budgie cage in her foster home.

Clara gets along with other dogs and lives happily with the resident Pomeranian and a visiting Border Collie. She previously lived in a home with six other small dogs and enjoys social interaction. One thing to be aware of is her tendency to resource guard toys. If another dog picks up a toy she sees as hers, she may become possessive. Her foster carer manages this by removing toys during play or holding Clara while the other dogs play. With time and consistency, this behaviour should improve.

Clara would thrive in a home where she can be a beloved companion and included in daily life. She would suit a home with or without other calm dogs, and while she is fine with children, a respectful and gentle household is best.

Clara is ready to be spoilt like the little queen she is.

Clara is in foster care in Umina Beach, NSW, and is not available for interstate adoption. Clara's adoption fee is $700 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped.
