Meet Ralph,
Ralph isn’t the type of cat to put on a show or seek the spotlight. He’s a little shy, a little unsure, and may even try to hide when you first say hello - but don’t be deterred - Ralph is a sweet boy who is just still learning what safety and trust feels like. He'll surprise you with head bunts, soft purrs, and slow rolls onto his side for extra pats and treats and will even start kneading you a batch of biscuits.
What Ralph needs most is someone with patience and kindness - someone who can see him for who he really is. He would thrive in a calm, quiet home with either experienced cat owners, or first time owners, who understand that every cat shows affection in their own unique way - some are a little more quieter than others.
Ralph is gentle, curious, and independent. He may not run up to greet you straight away, but give him time, and you’ll see his warm spirit shine through. He’s not just looking for a home - he’s looking for someone who will make him feel safe.
Ralph is open to meet kids from 10 years & up. Although he's not at the point of being 100% comfortable with being picked up, or carried, he is still learning to trust and this can take time - he loves pats, praise and cuddles though, and we feel that slightly older kids will be able to recognise his needs and allow him to thrive in his own time.
We do not feel that Ralph would be comfortable living with dogs. Although we cannot test this, it is just a feeling that we have.
As for cats, again, we haven't really be able to test how he would go living with another cat. This would be up to the discretion of his new owners.
We always encourage cats to be indoor cats. Ralph has already experienced living outside but he's very happy being an inside cat - he is a very quiet cat who enjoys the peacefulness of inside living where he feels safe. If he is outside, it will increase his chances of running away, getting lost, injured, or worse. As an inside cat he can live his best life possible.
Ralph has low to range energy levels & doesn't appear to be that interested in toys but he does like a comfy, warm bed to call his own and relax in.
Ralph is not fussy with his food. He is known to eat any food offered to him and he likes treats, too.
Staff Comments: Ralph is a staff favourite because of his quiet, sweet and gentle nature. He has the softest fur and a purr that will melt your heart. He looks at you with such soulfulness is his eyes.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
