About Jambalaya
SEE YA, KIDNEY!
** My kidney was successfully removed on Thursday 4th September. I was cleared for adoption by the vet on the 12th! **
Please get in touch with the team if you'd like to adopt me, the best kitten in the world!
😸 Gets along with other cats and would be happiest in a household with a feline friend
🐶 Untested with dogs but would likely be fine with a gentle pup given a slow introduction
👶🏻 Would prefer to be in an adult only household (or with older, gentle kids)
🏠 Strictly indoors only (a fully enclosed, professionally installed catio is fine)
❣️ May be happy as a solo cat if you’re home often enough to give him lots of attention
‼️ Jamba will be at our next adoption day at Pet O Northland (Saturday 20th September)! Feel free to come along to meet a range of cats and kittens and find your ideal match – and if you pre-apply to adopt, you can even take your new best friend home on the day!
If you'd like to meet him, please submit an application (see below) – the more information you can provide about your household, lifestyle and history with cats, the better 🤗

Hi! I'm Jambalaya, and I'm ridiculous.
Cute. Sweet. Cuddly. Playful. Smoochy. Did I mention cute?
I mean, just look at my handsome face. And my blotchy little paws. And my sticky-uppy tail.
Something you might not notice, though, is that I have a golf-ball sized mass in my abdomen.
I've spent several weeks undergoing tests with the vet to see what's going on, which is an incredibly expensive endeavour.
My carers at Sugar & Spice have been doing everything they can to help me get better – and have been advised that the mass is my severely enlarged kidney, and it needs to be removed.
But I'm an otherwise perfect little kitten, and I deserve the very best chance at a happy, healthy life.
My siblings and I were born in an environment that wasn't able to give us what we needed. We had worms, and fleas, and flu – not ideal for a bunch of little kittens without much of an immune system yet. But we powered through, with the help of our carers – and now, my siblings have all found their forever homes, while I await news of what's next for me.
If you agree that I'm worth trying to save, please consider donating to Sugar & Spice (all donations over $2 are tax deductible) at https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/sugarandspicecat or via my GoFundMe at https://gofund.me/5849d17e. I'd be ever so grateful (and so would my carers).
With lots and lots of headbutts and snoot boops,
Jambalaya 😸

Adoption details
If interested in a cat that is available for adoption, we require you to fill out an adoption application, and one of our lovely foster carers will give you a call to organise a time for a meet and greet.
Please note: As we are all volunteers with limited time up our sleeves, we prefer all interested potential adopters to fill out an application, rather than send an enquiry, as this helps us know more about you and what you are after, and saves us all a lot of time!
Apply here: https://form.jotform.com/sugarandspicecatrescue/cat-adoption-questionnaire
If forms aren't for you though, please SMS us (the number is in the link) and we can call to go through the form over the phone.
