About Willow - 5 Year Old Cattle Dog X Kelpie
Meet Willow, a 5-year-old Cattle/Kelpie with all the love a human could need. She loves cuddles on the couch just as much as playing ball, and she will be your shadow wherever you go.
Willow loves to play fetch. She thinks it’s a fun challenge to try and get all her toys in her mouth at once and somehow still drop the ball she wants to play fetch with. Willow does enjoy a chew toy or two. She is not particularly fond of going for walks; however, once she is out on the walk, she enjoys it. Her favourite part is coming home to chill out.
Willow sits and waits to shake or drop before she has her dinner; she has good recall and basic training. She will go and sit on her mat when told, but she will sneak up on the couch or bed. She is house-trained and uses the dog door and is not reactive in storms. She has lived with chickens in a pen, and although she is very excited by them, she has never tried to jump or dig into the pen. Willow is very clever, but would benefit from ongoing training.
Willows forever home will have people experienced with cattle dogs and kelpies with an understanding of their quirks (please don’t apply if you have not owned a Blue Heeler or Kelpie). She needs to be part of the family and be in the home with her humans when they are at home. She is currently accustomed to having access to indoors when home alone. Her yard will have 4-foot fences and plenty of room to play ball.
Due to her size and personality, her family won’t have children under 15, and won't want a dog they can socialise with at beaches, cafes, and parks. She will be perfect for those who love time at home or adventures as an only dog.
Willow is in foster care in Thornton, NSW. Willow’s adoption fee is $500, and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms and microchipped.
