Meet Vonnie, an adorable and charming Shih-Tzu/Maltese mix with a heart full of love waiting to be shared with her new family. At 5 years old, Vonnie is at the perfect stage in life, still lively yet mature enough to embrace a harmonious life. Weighing in at a petite 9.5 kg, she’s the perfect size to curl up next to you on the couch for a cozy movie night.
Vonnie comes ready for her new chapter, fully vaccinated, microchipped, desexed, and wormed, ensuring she’s in tip-top shape to be your loyal companion. Her sociable nature shines through, as she gets along well with both cats and other dogs, making her an ideal addition to a multi-pet household. While her interactions with children are still unknown, her friendly demeanor suggests she would happily coexist with them under the right circumstances.
Vonnie is a little fearful of men, so she needs a calm gentle man in her life.
Vonnie’s breed combination brings out the distinct and charming personalities of both Shih-Tzus and Malteses—she probably even sports those cute fluffy paws and a little button nose! While she’s a laid-back house dog most of the time, expect to hear her lively bark announcing when someone is at the door—she’s got a natural knack for letting you know when guests arrive.
Her ideal home includes lots of indoor time together, casual walks or outdoor exercises, a normal secure back yard, and a group of people who will provide her with the love and care she so deserves. If you’ve got room in your heart and home for this delightful little lady, Vonnie could be the perfect companion you've been searching for. With her winning personality and adorable looks, Vonnie is ready to find her new forever family in Northlakes. Are you ready to add a bundle of joy to your life?

Here are some quick tips to make your APPLICATION stand out:
Include as many details as you can about your lifestyle, family, accommodation, and work. Here’s some first-hand feedback from our member rescue organisations about what they'd like to see in your applications:
🐱 Why would this animal suit your home? (This lets them know that you've read the pet’s bio and considered their personality vs. your lifestyle)
🐾 Details about your family
🏡 Is your home quiet/relaxed or loud/busy? (Particularly important for timid cats). Ask questions, to show your are interested in the animals ell being.
Add questions into the application.
Fill out the profiles of your current pets if you have any. Understanding the personality of resident cats and dogs will help rescue organisations or foster carers determine if the pet will adjust to your surroundings.
Remember to be respectful and kind in your enquiries. A simple greeting can go a long way! Behind that screen is a real hooman, who loves and cares for the pet you're enquiring about just as much as you will!
Be open and honest - rescues prefer having as much information as they can about potential adopters.
An adoption fee applies to each animal to cover only the basic veterinary procedures, and each adoption goes out on a 21 day settling in period, if the dog is returned in this period, and you’ve spoken to our trainer for assistance, and the dog is returned in good health, mentally and physically, and all their belongings and paperwork are returned, then we provide a refund less $50 admin fee. This is not a trial, but in case of any unknown or unforeseen circumstances.
The adoption process is as follows
✅Everyone that lives in the home will meet the dog with the carer
✅We ask everyone go home again and discuss and think about overnight and contact us the next day
✅This also gives the carer a chance to think about suitability
✅Then if everyone agrees we then require a home inspection, or at least photos of the home yard and fences.
✅Then the adoption fee is paid and once that clears our account you are free to arrange with the carer to collect
✅The adoption paperwork comes out in 14 days in which time you are required to register and change chip over
