Meet Poppet - A Gentle Soul Ready to Bloom

Poppet is a very sweet and affectionate pup who is still learning to trust the world around her. She came into care a very worried girl, so it's clear she missed out on early socialization.

Though shy at first, Poppet loves gentle affection and being close to her people once she feels safe. She is currently learning how to walk on a lead and harness, as this is not something she has been exposed to before but she is making great progress everyday! Loud noises do often spook her so it is essential to slowly introduce her to walks in quiet areas to set her up for success, once she has completely settled into her new home.

Poppet enjoys enrichment and puzzle toys, which help calm her mind and provide much-needed stimulation. She's currently most comfortable outside, but having access to both indoor and outdoor areas will help her feel like part of the family and build trust in her new home.

She would do best with calm, older children and owners experienced with fearful dogs. A home with a gentle, confident dog friend would also help her learn and grow at her own pace.
